"I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you...stranger."
Medium: Acrylic paint on canvas
Size: 28" x 40"
I used a frame from The Dark Knight movie as a reference.
I am not sure exactly how long this took me to paint, but I know it was at least 2 weeks, mostly in the evening as I had school.
This is probably my favourite piece. I have always loved Heath Ledger's Joker, and I enjoy painting/drawing portraits.
Before I started this piece, I was a little afraid of colour, and using to much of it. I was searching the internet for various artists and painting styles, when I came across the name Voka, and spontaneous realism. I looked him up and immediately fell in love with his paintings and use of colour. I knew then that I couldn't be afraid of colour anymore, and had to let loose. As a result, I had a lot of fun painting this.
I am now thinking of making a series of portraits to go with this one, as I am currently about to start a Freddie Mercury painting.
It would be great to get some feedback. Any criticism is welcome!
